As Dead or Alive 6 players play various game modes, particularly DOA Quests and online multiplayer, they will earn costume parts. Whenever players earn costume parts, the game will notify them of it, which has had some players mistakenly believe that they’ve unlocked the costume itself. On the contrary, players typically have to earn between 500 and 1,000 costume parts to actually unlock any given costume in the game.
The downside to this system is that players can’t go after any particular costume specifically, meaning that they will unlock the costumes at random. Considering the time commitment required to unlock the costumes for every character in the game, players will want unlock them in the most efficient way possible. Unlocking costume parts in online matches will take quite awhile compared to completing DOA Quests, so we recommend Dead or Alive 6 players focus on DOA Quests when trying to earn costume parts.
Even after players have managed to amass enough costume parts to unlock a particular costume in the game, there’s another roadblock that may keep them from actually adding it to their collection. Besides costume parts, costumes also cost Player Points, which is Dead or Alive 6’s in-game currency. So players will need to make sure they have enough Player Points before they go to unlock a costume.
Besides costumes that can be earned in-game, Dead or Alive 6 has a slew of other costumes that are available through other methods as well. There are some costumes that are pre-order bonuses, and more costumes that are only available through DLC. Players who will want to get all the costumes may consider picking up the expensive Season Pass 1, which will get them access to a variety of upcoming costumes, including the Happy Wedding costume sets.
Unlocking all of the costumes in Dead or Alive 6 isn’t going to be an easy task, and will require players bust out their wallet to purchase additional content. However, for hardcore Dead or Alive 6 fans, the DLC costumes may very well be worth the asking price.
Dead or Alive 6 is out now for Arcade, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
