With nearly six years of development under its belt, Behaviour Interactive has had the time to finally update the graphical fidelity of Dead by Daylight’s character models. In particular, Behaviour has touched up its survivor characters’ facial features and hairstyles to better represent modern visuals. Some characters have been affected more than others with drastic appearance changes, but they ultimately reflect Dead by Daylight in its contemporary state. Now, Dead by Daylight has reworked its main visual key art to reflect these changes.

Dead by Daylight’s previous key art featured the Trapper, who is the game’s first killer character, as he looms in the back with original survivor characters Meg, Jake, Dwight, and Claudette in the forefront. The new key art is now more representative of the game’s current visuals, and also features four other original killer characters around the Trapper: Nurse, Huntress, Hag, and Wraith. Having this new key visual will help modernize the title and only portray its updated art when it is seen from now on.
While new key art may not necessarily be a wholesale rebranding for the game, it demonstrates that Dead by Daylight is looking ahead to what it can offer players and wishes to be redefined in its modern visuals. It is clear that while killer characters from theatrical adaptations are important additions to Dead by Daylight, Behaviour wishes to hold its original characters in the spotlight and showcase the more authentic side of its asymmetrical multiplayer title.
Further, Dead by Daylight introduces new patches often and produces updates to push it forward at the same time as new characters are added in expansive DLC packs. Dead by Daylight’s Sadako Rising chapter was released just recently, and certain perks have been re-enabled in Dead by Daylight’s Update 5.6.1. The game’s sixth anniversary is set to make its mark this June, so it will be interesting to see what celebrations are shared in the summer, and what surprises will be debuted for the latter half of 2022.
Dead by Daylight is currently available for Mobile, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
