In a recent post on the official Twitter page, patch 5.7.1 for Dead by Daylight has now gone live. Simply referred to as a “bugfix patch,” it comes with a litany of fixes for some known glitches. One of the things that many will notice is that the Ghost Face chase music has had its volume lowered. The patch notes do say that this is only a temporary solution, as the studio is apparently working on some new music all together. There are also fixes for things pertaining to character issues, such as the Killer not being able to pick up a Survivor at the bottom of the basement stairs.

As mentioned above, the game will be turning six soon, with a Dead by Daylight anniversary broadcast happening this month to kick off the usual celebratory festivities in June. The broadcast will invite fans to reminisce about what this past year has meant for them in terms of playing the game. There’s also said to be a Year 7 Roadmap, as well as some upcoming quality of life improvements, additional updates to things like gameplay, and the reveal of Chapter 24. That’s all happening on May 17.

The developer has also been in the news recently for confirming that one of Dead by Daylight’s characters is gay. Revealed to be David King, Behaviour Interactive said that many players perhaps already suspected as much, but the developer wanted to make it official to ensure that the integration of a gay character ensures more fair representation within gaming.

With the development of a Dead by Daylight board game also in the works, it seems clear that there’s still a lot of mileage left in the franchise. Many fans will no doubt be joining the studio and other players in wishing the game a happy sixth birthday next month. It will be interesting to see what will come of the online co-op horror title over the coming months and years.
