The latest Dead by Daylight leaks have been spreading online, claiming that the upcoming Chapter 22 is going to be called Crow’s Nest and that Chapter 23 is going to be based on The Conjuring film franchise. The Conjuring movies are a popular series of horror films based on fictionalized versions of Ed and Lorraine Warren, infamous supernatural investigators. The Conjuring movies feature a number of notable characters who could make for interesting new Survivors, as well as ghostly apparitions that would be solid picks for killers.

Further details about what The Conjuring DLC in Dead by Daylight will entail are unavailable at the time of this writing. While it seems unlikely that The Conjuring franchise mascot Annabelle will be the killer for the DLC, it’s easy to see how beings like The Nun or The Crooked Man from The Conjuring 2 would be good picks for the game.

It must be stressed that this leak has not been proven outright and so fans should take it with a grain of salt. However, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if these leaks turn out to be true. Behaviour itself has acknowledged the leaks (thought not the actual details of said leaks), plus The Conjuring is one of the most popular horror movie franchises of all time, and it has plenty of content that would translate well to the Dead by Daylight experience.

So far, Dead by Daylight has crossed over with numerous horror movie franchises. Hellraiser is the most recent example, but Dead by Daylight has also had crossovers with Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and even the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.

There are still some horror movie icons that have eluded Dead by Daylight. One of the most notorious examples has to be Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th fame. Initially, Jason was the star of his own asymmetric multiplayer horror game called Friday the 13th: The Game, and since then rights to the character have proven to be a legal mess, to say the least. This has kept new Friday the 13th content from being produced, including movies and video games.

Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
