Dead by Daylight’s Year 7 Roadmap teases when players can expect new content such as Chapters, Tomes, in-game events, and other structural gameplay implementations that Behaviour Interactive plans to add. Further, Behaviour’s sixth-year anniversary revealed that Dead by Daylight will receive a new Resident Evil Chapter at some point in 2022, which narrows down when players can expect it if they assess the roadmap’s schedule of content. But until then, more information will be shared sooner than later at an event showcase from the game’s developer next month.

Behaviour recently announced Behaviour Beyond, a new showcase from the developer as a celebration kickoff for its 30th anniversary. The showcase is set to air on Wednesday, August 3, at 1:30 PM EST, but no other details have been shared about what exactly it may entail or what may be discussed during it. Soon afterward, however, it was announced that more information about Dead by Daylight’s second Resident Evil Chapter will be revealed during this Behaviour Beyond showcase, such as what the “W” stands for in Project W.
Dead by Daylight’s first Resident Evil Chapter followed the popular remake releases for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, introducing Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine as well as Chris and Claire Redfield as survivors. This DLC also introduced Nemesis as its killer and a highly detailed interior map inspired by the Raccoon City Police Department, which had its fair share of issues upon release. Now, based on the “W” in Project W, Resident Evil fans have instantly leaped to the assumption that Albert Wesker will make his debut in Dead by Daylight.
This would corroborate recent Dead by Daylight leaks that claim to know which characters will be included, with survivor additions allegedly being Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers. Many Dead by Daylight leaks have been correct in the past and it may be the case for Project W as well, but fans should still tread lightly with these rumored leaks until official information is shared.
Fortunately, fans will potentially learn everything they need to know about Project W on August 3 when the Behaviour Beyond showcase airs. It is unknown what else may be shared at the event, but hearing about Dead by Daylight’s next Chapter update will surely be an exciting incentive for fans to tune in.
Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
